DoubleTree by Hilton has made its official debut in the Netherlands with the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station, a grand hotel in the tradition of the old world with luxury amenities from the new world. Formerly known as the Mint Hotel Amsterdam, the Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station is one of eight Mint Hotels located in the Netherlands and the UK that are expected to join the Hilton Worldwide portfolio of hotels under the DoubleTree by Hilton and Hilton Garden Inn brand names in 2012. The opening of the Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station marks a period of rapid European growth for DoubleTree by Hilton, with more than 25 new hotels opened since 2008 and 25 additional hotels currently under development. The total Hilton Worldwide portfolio now boasts more than 220 hotels with another one hundred projects underway.
The 553-room Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station offers outdoor areas such as waterfront terraces, sky terrace, suite balconies, courtyard and private roof terraces. The hotel is located next to Centraal Station in Amsterdam’s historic city center and is surrounded by world-renowned museums and canals. DoubleTree by Hilton spokesman Rob Palleschi said "The newly renamed DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station will continue to offer guests many of the design and service attributes already enjoyed by current hotel guests, along with the added rewards of our Hilton Honors guest loyalty program and the signature, sweet worldwide welcome of our legendary DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie available at our more than 275 fine hotels and resorts across 23 countries."
Rooms and suites at the Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station have old world charm but also offer many innovative amenities like Apple iMac computers that work as both a TV and a computer, dedicated work desks, and gourmet in-room coffee and tea services. Needless to say, free high-speed Internet is also available throughout the entire hotel. The hotel features several restaurant options and business-friendly meeting rooms with natural daylight, soundproofed walls, high-speed Internet access, and an iMac, for use in each room. Built on a rich history of tradition and packed with modern amenities, the Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station is destined to become one of Europe’s premier tourist destinations.
