The nearby Stayokay Hostel is a schoolhouse-turned-hostel located inside the greater park area. The Stayokay Hostel is clean and modern and offers hundreds of affordable rooms for hikers, backpackers and other day trippers. At the low end, hostel beds start at just $25 per person, while private double rooms begin at an affordable $75 with bed and breakfast.
Backstage Hotel
The Backstage Hotel's name and the interior feature a music-oriented theme with various
guitars and music memorabilia covering the walls. The hotel is sponsored by the Jack Daniels brand and its location is only minutes away from the downtown theatre district as well as a selection of bars and clubs. The décor is musical-minimalist and the furniture is inspired by musical instrument flight cases. White light bulbs line the mirrors to lend an authentic dressing room feel and there is a four-person Guitar Hero room available too. Depending on the room, doubles can stay at the Backstage Hotel from $100 to $150 for the room only.
Chic & Basic
The Chic & Basic is an old canal house that has been renovated with a classic Mediterranean feel featuring bright white walls and minimal furniture. Unlike the seedy budget hotels in the Central Station area, the Chic & Basic is a solid, inexpensive hotel option that boasts a great central city location while delivering clean rooms, adequate services and free Internet at very affordable rates. Doubles at the Chic & Basic start at $120 per night.
City Center Bed and Breakfast
The City Center Bed and Breakfast is a small B&B located near the central Nieuwendijk shopping district that provides a taste of central Amsterdam living with easy access to many nearby attractions. The rooms are clean if sparsely furnished and all bathroom facilities are shared. Doubles start at just $120.
Flying Pig Uptown Hostel
The Flying Pig Uptown Hostel was created as an uptown alternative to the owner’s existing Flying Pig Downtown Hostel in the red light district.
